Soon after losing my son Adam to suicide, I realized our lives had changed forever.  A few things always seemed to resonate with me – I did not wish this pain on anyone, and I wanted to make sure Adams death was not in vain.

In my search for something…anything…I found the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).  I immediately began Team Adam and signed up to walk in the suicide awareness walk that would take place on the campus where my daughter was attending college.  We raised a few thousand dollars for the AFSP and that felt amazing.  Team Adam has been a yearly thing since his passing.  Knowing the money raised will be used for suicide research, raising awareness and smashing the stigma of mental illness.
